shopping!

Boxing day: With a 6:30am start (supposed to be 5am but I slept in accidentally), and with only about 2 hours of sleep, I was ready to bite people’s heads off by 10am and drop dead by mid-day. My first two buys were house-related: whitegoods- a fridge and a washing machine. C owes me big time!!!!! So much effort involved and I missed out on shopping for myself. But saved a good deal too. Then I bought a silk dress, and two rings, went hunting some more for MZ’s top (it doesn’t exist in Victoria! emoticon) and there ends my shopping.

Christmas eve: I bought the iPod Nano and awesome platform sandals (sounds so 1999, but makes my legs look inhumanly long)

and Dad got me a camera in HK last night.

so all I need from Malaysia are gym clothes and flats. And bathers. but I’m sure I’ll end up buying a whole lot more..

Woah they just keep coming, don’t they

Resolutions.

  • study smarter: know how exams are going to be like at the start of semester, not at the end, do readings diligently, active listening and note taking in class, get a bloody locker in law school
  • collect less crap: buy only what i need, and buy quality
  • keep self fit- sure I’m an Aussie sz 6/8, but what’s the point if I’m not fit
  • be less…messy
  • be more friendly towards others
Easy right? Nothing impossible, nothing soo challenging. One step at a time, Irina.

Forget the wishlist I constructed earlier.

All I want for Christmas is Viktor & Rolf’s Flowerbomb perfume.

furniture scoping is still shopping, right?

Ikea’s having this deal now where if you purchase their gift card, they’ll give you 10% of the value you purchase. The Housemate and I are planning on getting most of our furniture there anyway, so we got $800 and got $80 free. Awesome!

And while we are talking about Ikea, the Richmond store has total hotties working there. Too bad they don’t have any job openings..

Music, 2009- new favourites

- Miike Snow and Passion Pit are my new favourite bands

- St Vincent my new favourite female singer

All discovered through Urban Outfitter’s LSTN (I’m past following closely new and emerging artists so this is very handy for discovering new stuff, albeit already picked through)

I have been on a hunt for a new signature scent- I currently switch between The Body Shop’s White Musk, DKNY Be Delicious (green) and Escada’s Sunset Heat, but wear the White Musk the most.

So anyway these are the contenders:

 1) Dolce & Gabbana ‘Light Blue’

 2) Elizabeth Arden ‘Mediterranean’

 3) Anna Sui ‘Flight of Fancy’

 4) Vera Wang ‘Princess’

 I’ll decide soon :D

The question

If R asked me now to rate how I feel on a scale of 1-10, it will be a -2.

Christmas wish list

SO what better way of focusing my energy than writing about one of my main loves in life?

I do not celebrate Christmas but I am constructing a wish list nonetheless. Mainly because post-exams (btw, results were released today, and I’m happy! More about that later!) I have not done much shopping, only bought 2 dresses, and I am in dire need of some items.

The list:

  1. A digital camera. My old one, which is also my first, is a Kodak Easyshare 5MP one. It still takes pictures but is lacking user-friendliness (buttons are a bit sticky), is slow (interval between taking one picture to being ready to take the next is a tad too long for me), and takes horrible pictures in the dark (yes, even with the right settings/modes- there’s no manual features- and even with flash, which produces harsh results). I am thinking of hopping on the Canon Ixus bandwagon as friends with cameras from the line have nothing but praise for their cameras.
  2. An iPod. I’m sorry, I am not an Apple fangirl but I am finally caving in and admitting that I do need an iPod. For the gym, for commuting, to avoid awkward conversations…
  3. Waterproof flats.
  4. New gym togs.
That’s it! I am pretty amazed myself, while I am typing this up- I am known to make lists a mile long (Exhibit A, Exhibit B)

That said, I am going shopping tomorrow, for things that are not on that list. Okay yeah, maybe #3 and #4. Wish me luck!
